Richardson Shredding
Settlers from Kentucky and Tennessee settled to the Richardson location in the 1840s. Through the 1850s, the settlement lay around the present-day College of Richland College. Richardson was chartered in 1873, and the town was called after railway specialist E.H. Richardson. In 1910, the population was roughly 600. Since then Richardson is among just four cities in the state of Texas and 88 cities in the country with an “AAA” score from S&P. Richardson is the city’s second biggest work center (DFW) with a daytime population reaching more than 140,000. The economy continues to be rooted in the telecom industry.
