Hard Drive Destruction Services
The information businesses store on hard drives is not as safe as you think. You can count on Proshred® to assure your hard drive will be disposed of the right way.
Our Hard Drive Destruction Process
Watch our video to learn more about our hard drive destruction service, and how we can help your business. Erasing your data is simply not enough.
Erasing Data Is Not Enough
Just because the information has been erased from a hard drive does not mean it is free from theft. That data can still be accessed by someone well-versed in information retrieval, which can lead to a major security breach. The only way to ensure your sensitive information cannot be accessed once the hard drive leaves your premises is to use secure hard drive destruction.
Get it Done with On-Site Hard Drive Destruction
With Proshred®’s secure and confidential hard drive destruction services, we ensure your hard drives are properly destroyed before being discarded. Proshred® offers mobile hard drive shredding for the times you require your hard drives to remain in your custody until they are destroyed. Our experienced staff will come directly to your business to pick up your hard drives and destroy them the right way, allowing you to see the process in action. We also provide a detailed certificate of destruction showing the date and time of the hard drive pick-up.
Recycling E-Waste And Complying With Legislation
As part of our environmental stewardship, Proshred® is committed to making sure each hard drive is delivered to metal and electronics recyclers for further processing. We only send electronic waste to certified recycling partners that comply with federal and state regulations. Therefore, you can rest easy knowing your information is disposed of safely. Whether you’re a law firm, medical facility, financial organization, educational institution, residential location, or any type of small/medium business, having a certificate of destruction ensures the final step in the shredding process for full compliance with privacy laws like HIPPA, HITECH, FACTA, and GLBA.
What Environmental Benifits Does Hard Drive Shredding Offer?
When you choose Proshred®'s hard drive destruction service, you're not just safeguarding your company's sensitive data; you're also making a positive impact on the environment. Here's how:
- Minimized Landfill Impact: E-waste is a rapidly growing global concern, with a substantial portion of old electronics ending up in landfills. Our hard drive shredding service ensures responsible disposal, preventing these devices from adding to landfill waste.
- Preserving Resources: Electronics contain valuable materials such as copper, gold, and silver, which can be recycled. Through our hard drive shredding process, we enable the recovery and reuse of these resources, reducing the need for further material extraction.
- Managing Hazards: Inside electronic devices lie hazardous substances like lead, mercury, and cadmium, posing risks to the environment and human health if not handled properly. With Proshred®'s expertise in hard drive shredding, these materials are safely extracted and managed, mitigating potential environmental harm.
The best way to destroy a hard drive is to utilize a professional shredding service, like ours. Criminals can still retrieve data from hard drives if you haven't properly destroyed them. Don't take chances with your sensitive data; leave it to the experts at Proshred®
What Are People Saying About Proshred®
Today, Tuesday, 1/10/23, at 2:00 PM, I went to Pro Shred located in Elmsford to drop off two bags of papers. I was not aware that they did not accept cash or Apple Pay.
I am a first time customer, so I did not know the payment method. Met with Lamont, who explained they did not accept cash, however, he did look into the Apple Pay. This is when I met with Steven, who, like Lamont, spoke in a friendly and professional manner. Steven explained an alternative way, which I’d gladly accepted. Overall, the friendly and professional service I received from Steven in Lamont was exceptional. Thank you very much!
I was very pleased to know that they were NOT Dallas Cowboy fans!
Go Giants!

When contract a job I am very specific about wanting to be charged what I am quoted. Usually I can't even get past the quoting when other companies start saying they will do it by box and then start talking about bin size on the phone. Pro Shed and Tara who quoted the job, did not play any games with me. They quoted a box price and then honored the box price. Not only was Tara grear, but when the guys showed up to do the shredding, they were professional, friendly, confident, and hard-working. Everything went as planned straight through the payment. I would refer anyone to this company at any time, because I feel comfortable that they did a good job for me and would do a good job forgrade,
I needed a little more shredding done, a very small job, just a little residual from the big job at a later date, and they are handling that great as well. I spoke to the manager today about them coming out on Monday for the residual and told him how pleased I was with the service. Unfortunately I can't remember his name but he was so professional as well and I'm so glad that I deal with this company. Don't use anyone else use a class act. ProShred gets 5 starts in all categories.
I have limited need for shredding services--every year or two, I need to shred some old credit card slips and bank statements and such. It is always very easy to load 8-10 boxes of stuff in the back of my station wagon, drive it over to ProShred and then unload it into a bin, pay the fee and I'm on my way. Easy peasy. The staff is aways friendly and cheerful; they will do my shredding for the foreseeable future.
